20.- Meredith Brooks - What Would Happen (DEBUT)

Back in 1998, it was cool to be a Live fan, they rocked so much and were the hot thing. Nowadays, they're an awful joke of what they were, they went all bland and fluffy, but we still have those golden days, as proved in this chart. At 11, they debut with "Turn My Head", a great great ballad. I have a story! I called my local radio station and requested this song, but do i need to remind you again I live in México? Obviously they had never played it... anyway, they made me translate the title for them to understand, and when they finally got it, they just said something like "Oh, you want to call out sister station, let me connect you with them". Argh! It was a traditional mexican music station, but I finally put my request, which obviously wasn't played, but I felt so much joy to make them look incompetent by not having any of the songs I usually requested jajajajaja. Anyway (again) at 13, we have the greatest Matchbox 20 song they ever recorded "Push" I still LOVE that song to this day. On 18, the debut of a cute-as-a-button man named Jai, I don't think I ever learned anything about him, just that his song "I Believe" was amazing and the video was really great as well. Natalie Imbruglia was debuting her first single "Torn" and a little later, it became a massive hit around the world. And finally, at 20, Meredith Brooks strikes again, this time with her best song "What Would Happen".

19.- Fiona Apple - Sleep To Dream
20.- Bush - Mouth (DEBUT)

Only a new entry, by Bush. The song "Mouth" which originally appeared on "Razorblade Suitcase", and there, it was a little muddy, and kinda messy to me, but the "Stingray Mix" on the remix album "Deconstructed" was an improvement for me, much more digestible and it seemed to me at that time, edgier. great song anyway!

20.- No Doubt - End It On This (DEBUT)

Björk and Sugar Ray re-debut. As for the Bloodhound Gang song, I don't exactly remembebr the name of the song, but a quick google revealed they have a song called "Fire, Water, Burn" and if that was around late 97 - early 98, then that's the song I was charting. At 19, a duo with two unlikely voices, well, they compliment each other, both have these quirky and odd voices not liked by everyone: Eros Ramazzotti and Tina Turner with a new version of a not so old song by Eros "Cose Della Vita". And finally, YET ANOTHER song by No Doubt, this time was "End It On This" a very cool track.

20.- No Doubt - You Can Do It

The chart at this time, was changing finally, a little less mainstream. At 17, Portishead debut with "Only You". I remember watching the video on MTV (can you imagine??) with my cousin, and he laughed all the way, thinking it was too quiet and I don't know how to explain it. He later grew to like it as well. It was a nice introduction to Portishead, i remember playing the song very loud all the time in my room, that even my parents were getting tired of it. Amazing song! Anyway, at 18, Bjork debuts with another "Homogenic" track, this time, the trip-hop influenced "All Neon Like"

Céline re-debuts with "Water From The Moon". Oasis at 19, enter with the 3rd single from "Be Here Now", the song "All Around The World", i used to think the video was cool. At 18, Sheryl Crow enters with a theme for a James Bond movie, the song "Tomorrow Never Dies". And the highest entry goes to Eros Ramazzotti with the great "Occhi Di Speranza" at 17
