Tori Amos released her new single "A Sorta Fairytale" to much surprise. I remember people all surprised by the change of direction the song suggested. I remember listening to it on repeat for hours, and here it debuts at 19. The other debut comes from band A Silver Mt. Zion, which used to have some cool music. After that, I got bored of them always releasing the same stuff rehashed... in my opinion of course.

Quite a few new entries. At 20, Live come in with two of the best songs from their album V. It was a very much maligned album, but it had many amazing songs, and it's miles above to what came later. At 19, Chris Thile from the band Nickel Creek debuts with Sinai To Canaan (Part 1). For years I wondered if there was a second part, until much later I bought the album and the second part was on the same album :) At 17, Aimee Mann enters with Deathly. 16 sees Shelby Lynne debut with one of the only great songs this woman has released, I Can't Wait. And the highest debut goes to Lifehouse, with yet another great song from their first album, this time it was Quasimodo.

Duncan Sheik's domination rages on. With 4 songs in the top 5, he debuts at 12 with what was, at the time, his newest single, On a High, from his latest album Daylight. At 14, Yo La Tengo had a cool song, one very few they have ever had, the song's Everyday. And at 18, Kevin Max debuts with a couple songs, a cover to Help Me Rhonda by the Beach Boys, and this amazing song called Resonate. I remember listening to this song and wondering why it never made the cut for Stereotype Be, but supposed he was keeping it for later. Well, Almost a decade has passed and no sign of it being officially released, which is a shame.

20.- Steven Curtis Chapman - Magnificent Obsession

7 debuts, no less! The highest debuts go to Duncan Sheik, and it's easy to guess I was rediscovering his amazing music. At 13, the diva of country music Dolly Parton with a cover of a classic (and just because of it's a classic, doesn't mean I like it) Stairway To Heaven, a very nice rendition. At 15, a very dark song by Björk from her album Vespertine, the song is An Echo, A Stain. At 16, Howie Day leaves the chart, but returns with another song from his album Australia, the song Slow Down. At 17, I was discovering Emiliana Torrini, and the song that grabbed me was Dead Things which enters at 17. The lowest debut is at 18, Vanessa Carlton with the song that brought her fame, A Thousand Miles. Sad to know she never reached again those levels of fame. But let'0s be honest, she never made strong enough material after her debut.

And a little lower, we have Travis replacing themselves in the chart with the gentle sounds of Dear Diary coming in at 14.

Stereophonics manage to score another double song and this time right into the top ten at 8. The Handbags & Gladrags song is a cover, and better than the original in my opinion. I coupled it with Fiddler's Green, another cover, also better than the original. I don't know, I like Stereophonics... or well, liked them, now they changed so much and much more throwaway. And at the bottom, we have Tori entering the chart with Enjoy The Silence... another cover! I prefer her cover to original as well. What I think could be corrected, and she did live, is towards the end, she should have gone for a more high pitched sound in the last chorus, yet, on the album is all deep voiced and it kinda defeats any intent of highlighting the ending. Oh well, I like it a lot anyway.

20.- Westlife - Angel (DEBUT)

Two new songs to the chart, at 18 we have Bush, with what would be their last studio album Golden State. Inflatable was the second and I think, final single from it. Gorgeous song. And at 20, Westlife debut with a cover of that over played song Angel, original by Sarah McLachlan.

20.- Goo Goo Dolls - Here Is Gone (DEBUT)

I love weeks like this. Full of debuts! The highest of them being a Kevin Max song called If I Could Make It Work In Life, which came out before Kevin became a solo artist. Then at 11, Audio Adrenaline, another christian artist, a good band, with a song that deserved to be a single, Lift. At 13, yet another christian artist, Steven Curtis Chapman with a larger than life song, it's really epic, Magnificent Obsession. At 15, another double song, two b sides from Stereophonics: Piano For A Stripper and Heart Of Gold. Which is funny, cause Tori is also in this same chart with her version of Heart of Gold. At 17, Semisonic with Act Naturally. They left the chart with El Matador but replaced their abscense with another wonderful song. At 18, yet another christian band, Third Day, with a nice song called When The Rain Comes. To this day, they haven't made an album as strong as Come Together where the song is included. And... yes, you guessed right, another christian artist debuts this week, this time it's the turn for Paul Alan. This guy released his album Falling Awake and left for many years, finally coming back in 2008. Have a Little Hope remains my favorite song by him. And finally at 20 Goo Goo Dolls with a nice song I would say, though nothing to write home about.

Two high debuts! At 7, the amazing and still to this day, best song Stereophonics have made, Mr Writer. First single from Just Enough Education To Perform. And at 11, Tori Amos with what could be her louder song to date, Heart Of Gold, a cover of Neil Young's original. Tori transformed it into a hard rock number and it works perfectly!

Cocoon is a wonderful song, but still no wonder it didn't go anywhere. But kudos to Björk for releasing such a song as a single. Also, Soulwax was new to me at the time, and Much Against Everyone's Advice was a cool song to chart. And well, we all make mistakes, that Girlfriend song is not awful, but didn't deserve a spot in my top 20.

The Good Friday Experiment song, I actually found randomly in some forum. I don't really know anything about it, just that it was a cool song and that's it. In 19, Eros Ramazzotti debuts with a pretty ballad that i think was the final single from his Stile Libero album. And at 20, a laughable song by Robbie teaming up with actress Nicole Kidman. This was the beginning of the end for Robbie and his music.

Cool! An awesome song debuts at number one. Kevin Max with Dead End Moon. Definitely, his whole album Stereotype Be is a must hear for everybody, it is very interesting. At the bottom, Tori enters with a song that she originally sang as Y Kant Tori Read, her 80's band, but I was focusing here more with her recent piano driven version. And at 20, a couple of songs from her amazing album Strange Little Girls. These two might be the darkest on the album and the more sinister, not to mention the best.

More Tim McGraw... the chart was getting dangerously boring it seems jajajaja. Still, Angry All The Time is a very good song, with Faith Hill, Tim's wife, doing background vocals.

Sigur Rós debut again, this time with Ný batterí, a harsher song than what we see at number two. Still pretty cool. And I didn't remember Simple Creed going so high... it didn't deserve it.

20.- Tim McGraw - Take Me Away From Here (DEBUT)

The video for Pagen Poetry is amazing and in the day, many people thought it was in bad taste, but the skin piercing shots were very cool. The song is beautiful however. And Tim McGraw's song was one of the best on his album Set This Circus Down, but not on par with most songs on A Place In The Sun.

I loved Fool To Think even before I bought the cd. I would search through iMesh and would see the song title come up with the results, but thought it was some old song I didn't know. But when I got the cd, I instantly loved it anyway, it IS a great song!

Another throw away Garth song, but I supposed I liked it back then. And REM also enter the chart with the melancholic and sweet and sad I'll Take The Rain. Still a favorite to this day.

Well, I never really liked that much Hanging By a Moment, so the first song I charted of Lifehouse was not that hit, but the next one, Sick Cycle Carousel. As for Newsboys, well, I was going throught one of many phases I have with different kinds of music, this time was a christian one and not because of that, the song is bad or anything, it's still great to this day.

3 debuts. Embrace with the awesome Over, a song that at the time blew me away the first time I listened to it, such an epic track. At 16, Gary Allan debuts with What I'd Say, that I recently heard is a cover, but I don't know who sang it originally. The song is amazing. And the lowest debuts comes at 18, Sigur Rós with a song which video was so cool lol The two kids in the video end up kissing <3
