This chart marks one of the interesting points in my chart's life. In this same week, 17 out of the 20 songs were sung by females or predominantly female lead vocals, something that has never been repeated, this was woman's week! Anyway, Beth Gibbons and company enter the chart with the desperate and extremely dark song "Half Day Closing" at number two. To this day, I don't know why critics prefer "Dummy" over "Portishead", well, I know, critics don't like dark music. At 5, another debut, it's by 4 The Cause, a group that disappeared as soon as this song was played apprently. It was obviously a cover, but I don't know, there was something about it that really got me, it was cool. At 17, The Corrs debut with a cover of Fleetwood Mac (crappy band covering crappy band) "Dreams". At 18, Spice Girls released this lovely ballad when Geri's had left the group, but she was included here thanks to a fairy. The video was really good, maybe even outstanding, specially being the Spice Girls. And at 19, Sarah McLachlans debuts with another ballad, "Adia", which was thought to be about a lesbian affair. And what happened here?? Tori Amos with "Spark" falls from 6 to 20????? ARGH! Why?? I regret that, but that's the real deal kids.
